- Here is a basic install using the Shark Attack II in the factory
antenna hole, factory antenna cable and power wire. This is a
basic install that takes roughly 10-15 min.
- Remove the factory power antenna by removing the external mast
fastening nut and pull the inside cover panel.
| |
- Undo the 10mm nuts that secure the old antenna to the inside
of the car.
| |
- Pull the old antenna totally out of the car; unplug the drain
and the power plug.
- Unplug the factory antenna cable, you will need it later.
- Drop in the Shark Attack II.
- Pull the cables through and then put the fastening nut to
fasten the antenna to the quarter panel.
-
Check to see if your antenna has an extra wire beside the antenna
cable. If so, find the factory 12V power wire. This will only
have power when the radio is on.
- Cut the power wire from the plug, strip it back. Cut the Shark
Attack AMP power wire and strip it back also.
- Solder the factory power and the antennas AMP power wire together.
You can also use butt connectors, tap connectors or any type
of crimp connector to fasten the two together.
- Tape or protect the wiring splice you just made. Heat shrink
tube can also be used.
- Make sure everything works fine and is lined up properly and
put everything back together.
